The LGBTQ+ community was built on the efforts of ALL queer people, and that HAS to include trans people and queer people of color. The history and meaning of the LGBT Rainbow/Gay Pride Flag. The stripes exist to serve as a reminder that these groups are integral parts of our fight for equality, and that we cannot continue to allow their struggles to go unseen. As of June 2019, this flag appears to be the new community standard Lesbian flag. They're more likely to be excluded, they're statistically more likely to experience hate crimes. Trans and/or POC queer people far more likely to be judged by society AND by the LGBTQ+ community. The flags exist to highlight the importance of trans people and queer people of color, because oftentimes they are at best forgotten, and at worst directly attacked.
The versions down here are based off of the Twitter version (desaturated colors) and Windows 10 version (bright colors with black boarders, the batch originally posted to my old blog) of the emoji, respectfully. The Philadelphia Flag and the Progress Flag aren't highlighting trans and QPOCs for no reason. (A couple variants of these flags are under the cut.) The flags in the main part of the post are based off of the Windows 11 version of the rainbow emoji.
